Delicate, antique, and high-value rugs always receive immersion washing for the gentlest possible clean. The appropriate cleaning chemicals are selected for each rug individually.
Step 6 — Thorough rinsing. Every rug is rinsed completely to ensure that no cleaning chemical residue remains in the fibres. This step is critical — residue left in a rug can attract dirt faster after cleaning and cause long-term fibre damage.
Step 7 — Centrifuge extraction. The cleaned rug goes through our centrifuge rug spinner, which removes the vast majority of water rapidly and gently before drying. This dramatically reduces drying time and is far kinder to the rug than wringer-style extraction.
Step 8 — Vertical drying. The rug is hung vertically in our dedicated drying rooms and allowed to dry fully. Proper, complete drying is essential — a rug that’s returned damp or even slightly under-dried can develop musty smells, browning, or backing damage. We never rush this step.
